Coachella 2011 Lineup
Daft Punk will not be making their return to the event this year unfortunately, so let’s look at who actually will be heading to the Southern Californian desert to perform at the 2011 play-list for this much anticipated event. After teasing the loyal fans for days, and letting the rumor mill sort out some of the fact from the fiction, the festival has finally announced its official lineup on Tuesday night.
It had been widely speculated that Duran Duran, Arcade Fire and the Strokes would headline this year’s event, and indeed all three are on the bill but, interestingly enough, they will have some competition for the headliner status from the likes of Kings of Leon and (drum roll please) Kanye West. Other marquee acts joining them are PJ Harvey, Interpol, the Black Keys, Bright Eyes, Elbow, Mumford & Sons, Robyn, Cee Lo Green, the Chemical Brothers, Animal Collective, the Kills and the National. And not to mention filling in the “OMG” slot this year, surely meant to raise expectations and screams from the audience, a Death From Above 1979 reunion, and that has actually been confirmed my friends, yes it is, really.
Previous strategically leaked videos on their website and You Tube all led to the belief that Trentemoller, Phantogram, Tame Impala, Lightning Bolt, Fanfarlo and Monarchy are all signed up for this year’s event and that has also been given a thumbs up and has been confirmed.
