well mandatory recycling is not bad, so you are not going to find any “facts” that will prove otherwise.

One thing you might want to focus on is the social effects of plastic recycling, which is explained here:

What to do with styrofoam. DYK, my contractor was trying to go green, took all the styrofoam to his house, thinking he could add to his recycler bin? He got a charge from them, for $16 for having someone sort all the foams out of their truck!

And WHY DO they keep making and adding foams to our packaging?

Too many people are either stupid or hate the thought of recycling and will do anything they can to mess up the system. The bins are plainly marked, yet people stuff all kinds of things in where they shouldn’t go. Window glass, drinking glasses and toilets CANNOT be mixed in with glass bottles- it will destroy the whole load of glass so it cannot be used to make more bottles. The only idiot proof thing to recycle is metal. Throw dirty food cans in with aluminum, who cares? Melt it all down and the food will burn off, the steel will sink to the bottom and the aluminum will rise to the top to be removed pure as new.

the only strong debate is for the pros of recycling but then again there is one bad thing. Well in my state it is now mandatory to recycle plastic bottle but some people aren’t close enough to the recycling places and others are too old to do much other than what is necessary.
