Rising Gas Prices Explained: Will Gas Prices Continue to Rise?

oil,gas,prices,speculation,price,speculators,contracts,demand,libya,barrels,gas prices

Gas Prices rising have many of us saying OMG and WTF

Gas prices are certainly a concern for all of us, considering most of us, especially in America need to drive. While many here in America think it is President Obama’s fault, it is not. That is either right wing propaganda at work, misinformation, or lack of understanding and knowledge on the subject. President Obama Strikes Back At GOP Critics On Gas Prices who are using this situation to again further their own political agenda, and not working on anything like reining in greedy speculators on Wall Street. Obama has done nothing that would set off a surge in these prices. In fact, the United States is producing more home grown oil and natural gas than it has in a long time.

The thing we must consider is the world economy is improving, demand in other areas of the world is rising, and speculators are taking advantage of the situation in the Middle East again to boost profits for Wall Street. In a report last week in Bloomberg Business Week it is considered that oil speculators have already priced in a war with Iran.

Bankers energy profits

Bankers taking price gouging in energy prices and turning it into the next bubble?

Most oil analysts will point out that more than half of the spike in oil pricing is due to speculators, and more specifically, noncommercial users. Those noncommercial users consist of investors, many of which are from Wall Street who buy up futures contracts not because they will use the oil, but for an investment and are betting that the price will go up. So far the bets are paying off, thanks primarily to themselves. Continue Reading Rising Gas Prices Explained: Will Gas Prices Continue to Rise? Here

Mid-Atlantic Wind Farms Move Forward With Obama Plan Using National Ocean Policy Smart-From-The-Start

Gigantic Mid-Atlantic offshore wind farms move forward with an Obama Administration’s plan using smart-from-the-start from the National Ocean Policy. These new smart development projects could create upwards of tens of thousands of jobs and clean, domestic energy reducing dependence on foreign imports, and more importantly, fossil fuels.

The Obama administration on Thursday, 2/2/2012 moved forward with plans to develop the enormous Mid-Atlantic offshore wind farms for developing wind energy resources, using the new approach that has the potential to expedite the process while incorporating strong environmental protections, according to the Natural Resources Defense Council.

The administration released plans for developing waters off New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia. Offshore wind power could create thousands of jobs and generate power for millions of homes in the region. Keystone XL Pipeline Deal Rejected By President Obama

Keystone XL Pipeline Deal Rejected By President Obama - Stands up to big oil - Good for him!

The Keystone XL Pipeline Deal was denied by President Obama, who, acting on a recommendation from the State Department on Wednesday, denied the permit for the contentious Keystone XL pipeline proposal, which would have linked a vast oil deposit in Alberta, Canada, to refineries on the Texas Gulf Coast.

In defense of his actions of rejecting the permit, Obama placed blame on the Republicans in Congress, who in using brinkmanship forced passage of a measure late last month requiring the administration to render a decision on the pipeline by Feb. 21. Clean Energy – Future Of Clean Energy in US from Secretary of Energy Chu

Clean energy sounds like a great idea for most people, and Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, in his speech to the Washington Post Live Smart Energy Conference on Nov. 3, 2011 mentioned our choices in America are to either surrender of take advantage of the huge economic opportunities that are becoming available in the smart energy race. Why can’t we afford to offer the same amount of incentives and subsidies that we do to fossil fuels, or do they have that much of a grip on our government at this point? Here is the speech from Secretary Chu.

Future Of Clean Energy in US from Secretary of Energy Chu

On a windy day at Kitty Hawk on December 17, 1903, the Wright Brothers launched the world’s first powered airplane to achieve human flight – and with it, a whole new industry. For the next several years, they led the world. What is less appreciated is that the United States lost the technology lead in airplanes by the beginning of World War I. Although the U.S. military was the first and major customer of the Wright Brothers and their competitor, Glenn Curtiss, between 1908 and 1913, the United States ranked 14th in government investment in aviation. The low level of government showed: When we entered the war in 1917, we were so far behind that our allies convinced us to produce European designed aircraft.

Rising Oil and Gas Prices Will Continue As We Reach Peak Oil

rising gas and oil prices as a result from peak oil may be devastating to economy.

Rising Oil and Gas Prices Will Continue As We Reach Peak Oil Production

While oil and gas prices keep rising, and us nearing peak oil, many are concerned with where and when it will stop. Price spikes have occurred in 1973, 1979, 1991 and most recently 2011. These price jumps in oil and gasoline have done little to sway US Energy policies in the past, and with the current economic and political climate in Washington D.C., more than likely won’t do much to motivate politicians to create a sustainable long-term energy policy that will ensure the stability and security of our energy supplies for years to come.

Oil and gas prices are vital to the economy, because when they rise, so do the prices of everything else. Oil plays such a major part of our current economy, and is why it is referred to as a oil economy at times. This black gold is used in the production of, harvesting of, manufacturing of, and transportation of nearly everything that we touch each and every day. We had the first glimpse of an oil crisis in 1973 with the oil embargo, and developed a short term energy policy which disappeared just as fast as the oil embargo. Then again,in 1979, we had another oil shortage due to the Iranian incident during the Jimmy Carter Administration, and developed another short term inept energy policy. Nuclear Power: The Pros and Cons of Nuclear Energy

Special Report: Nuclear Power: The Pros and Cons of Nuclear Energy

A Guide to Nuclear Power Pros and Cons and How it Affects Us and the Environment

Introduction
Nuclear power is a form of energy. It is not dependent on fossil fuels or any fossil fuel, such as coal or natural gas. While many of us associate the word nuclear with atomic bombs, it has many more constructive uses. Nuclear energy can be used to power homes, businesses, and supply electricity to large numbers of people. There are, of course, pros and cons to this form of power. Following is something about what nuclear energy is and how it works, its history, and some nuclear power pros and cons for this type of energy.

What Is Nuclear Energy?
When the nuclei of certain atoms are split, they release energy. The process of atom-splitting is called nuclear fission. Normally, all elements have the same number of protons and neutrons in their nuclei. The exception to this is hydrogen, an atom with an unequal number of protons and neutrons. This makes hydrogen very unstable and therefore easier to split. This is why atomic bombs were also called hydrogen bombs, or H-bombs. Now, uranium is the element that is usually used.
