Is Global Warming Real? New Report By Skeptic Answers Is Global Warming Real

Is Global Warming Real? New Report By Skeptic Answers Is Global Warming Real - Chart Coutesy of Berkeley Earth.ORG

When we ask is global warming real, there are few scientists that will argue that point anymore. The evidence is overwhelming that it is in fact real. There have been longstanding feuds amongst scientists over the decades since the theory was first introduced by Svante Arrhenius in 1896. Ever since that time there have been those whom deny it’s existence, however, that camp for the most part has changed their tune as evidence keeps mounting suggesting that it is in fact very real. There are still some key scientists in denial of the fact to this day.

Is Global Warming Real

That brings us to the present day and the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature (BEST) study, a study that was heavily funded by the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation, which would prefer to keep climate denial as the mainstream philosophy for ulterior motives, primarily to fight attempts to reduce carbon emissions in the U.S.A. due to their energy industries large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions. The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) also funded by Koch industries is also attempting to thwart environmental protections and climate change legislature to benefit companies like Koch Industries bottom lines. 24 Hours of Reality Live

It’s time for the world to face the realities of climate change, and that time is now!

That is the message expressed by Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project, which has launched “24 Hours of Reality,” an event beginning at 7pm CT (8pm ET) on September 14, and running for 24 hours straight. It is a global event featuring 24 presenters in 24 time zones, who “will connect the dots between recent extreme weather events — including floods, droughts and storms along with the manmade pollution that is changing our climate.”

The event comes on the heels of hurricanes, droughts, and other extreme weather events slamming the United States, and as the country ended its second-hottest summer ever recorded.

Kevin Trenberth, a senior scientist with the National Center for Atmospheric Research, said “There is now a pervasive human influence in all climate events.”

In a recent Mediaite interview with Climate Reality Project’s Alex Bogusky, Gore said:

Powerful polluters … see it as a useful strategy to try to convince the public that the scientists are liars and that they’re greedy and they’re making stuff up. All in the service of their overarching strategy of creating enough doubt to persuade people that there shouldn’t be any sense of urgency about addressing this crisis.

In anticipation of the event, the Climate Reality Project released video ads suggesting that when it comes to the climate crisis, “the fat lady has sung and the *#!? is hitting the fan.”

You can watch the “24 Hours of Reality” event livestream in English here, beginning at 8pm ET, or click here to find the location where you would like to watch a presentation.

Stay tuned in to the Climate Reality Project and help to save the planet and we hope you enjoy the 24 Hours of Reality Live! Peace my friends and Godspeed!

Could The God Particle – Higgs Boson be Discovered in 2012?

Big bang theory proven in 2012?

The God particle, or Higgs boson has long been the pursuit of scientists far and wide. Physicists were once in the belief that the smallest components of the atom’s nucleus were protons and neutrons. After the invention and development of colliders, or particle accelerators that they discovered that the protons and neutrons were made up of quarks and gluons and that there are other forces and particles.

The Higgs boson, which is another name for this sought after particle, which was named after one of the physicists which was proposed in 1964, inspired by the ideas of Philip Anderson. The came up with the Higgs mechanism, or Englert-Brout-Higgs-Guralnik-Hagen-Kibble mechanism (named after all 6 participants), which is a process by which vector bosons can get a mass. Those 6 physicists were awarded the J.J. Sakurai Prize for Theoretical Particle Physics for their work on the Higgs mechanism. Rare Earth Elements Vital to Green Technology Becoming Harder to Get From China

Rare Earth Elements Vital to Green Technology Becoming Harder to Get From China - Theres Green Gold in them that hills!

Rare earth elements or minerals (REEs), aren’t actually rare, as they are as abundant as nickel or tin, and come by the obscure names such as dysprosium, gadolinium and praseodymium. While these names are your average household name, or item, these elements are crucial in the high tech labs and assembly plants, as they are utilized in the manufacturing of electronics, and yes, even green technologies. These so called rare elements are mined from the Earth’s crust and provide a distinct set of chemical elements which are extremely important in the manufacturing of many high and low tech products. They are used for products such as our iPhones, hybrid cars, Wind Turbines, Fiber Optics, aluminum baseball bats, smart munitions, and computer parts, to name a few. They are also essential in the next generation of new green energy technologies.

The major concern with these minerals is that they are mainly produced in China, as it is currently producing 97% of the worlds supply of them. There is great concern now as China has indicated it will reduce export quotas by 30% in 2011, which immediately follows a 72 percent reduction for the second half of 2010. Biogas – What Is Biogas and How Can Is It Used?

digesters,gas,matter,biogas,used,organic,bag,called,drum,farm

There are many benefits from the use of this gas!

Biogas is a by-product of matter breaking down or rotting, which produces a mixture of carbon dioxide and methane. These gases, called biogases, can then be used in various applications.

What Is It Made Of?

Biogas is made from organic matter. It is produced by the natural fermentation process. Some of the materials that are used are farm waste (manure), plant matter, sewage, and biomass.

How Is It Made?

This gas is made in large containers called digesters. There are several types of digesters, but one thing they have in common is that they are anaerobic, or without oxygen. It is the action of anaerobic bacteria that produces the biogas. The three main types of digesters are: Continue Reading Biogas – What Is Biogas and How Can Is It Used? Here

Earth floating on ocean (hint)

Low-Oxygen-Level Zones in our Oceans Worrying Scientists which from an article on Yahoo News(2) suggest that the lower levels of oxygen in our planets oceans, and more directly, the Pacific Northwest of the United States could be another sign of deep-seated global changes linked to climate change. Scientists warn that the oceans complex ecosystem and fragile food chains could be altered. Continue Reading Low-Oxygen-Level Zones in our Oceans Worrying Scientists Here
