Greenhouse Gases Cause of Global Warming, Not Sun Activity New NASA Report Confirms

A prolonged solar minimum left the sun's surface nearly free of sunspots and accompanying bright areas called faculae between 2005 and 2010. Total solar irradiance declined slightly as a result, but the Earth continued to absorb more energy than it emit throughout the minimum. An animation of a full solar cycle is available here. In a real brief summary, the study concluded:
Improving observations of ocean heat content show that Earth is absorbing more energy from the Sun than it is radiating to space as heat, even during the recent solar minimum. The inferred planetary energy imbalance, 0.58±0.15Wm−2 during the 6-yr period 2005–2010, confirms the dominant role of the human-made greenhouse effect in driving global climate change.
This imbalance is the primary driver for global warming, since more energy is coming in than leaving and, because it occurred during a period when the sun was emitting comparatively low levels of energy, the imbalance has implications for the cause of global warming. The results of the study confirm greenhouse gases produced by human activities are the most important driver of global climate change, according to the researchers. Sun Jan 22 2012 Solar Storm Largest Solar Flare Since 2005 Bombarding Earth Now
The sun is bombarding Earth with radiation from the biggest sun event in more than six years with more to come from the fast-moving eruption. The radiation, which comes in the form of protons, erupted out of the sun and are traveling at 93 million miles per hour.
The radiation is mostly a concern for satellite disruptions and astronauts in space. It can cause communication problems for polar-traveling airplanes, said space weather center physicist Doug Biesecker.
Radiation from Sunday’s solar flare arrived at Earth an hour later and will likely continue through Wednesday. Levels are considered strong but other storms have been more severe. There are two higher levels of radiation on NOAA’s storm scale — severe and extreme — Biesecker said. Still, this storm is the strongest for radiation since May 2005. Moon Map View Latest Moon Map From NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO)
This new topographic map, from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona shows the surface shape and features over nearly the entire moon with a pixel scale close to 100 meters or 328 feet. A single measure of elevation or the equivalent of one pixel is about the size of two football fields placed side-by-side.
Seeing as the moon is our closest neighbor, knowledge of its morphology is still obviously limited. Due to instrumental limitations of previous missions, a global map of the moon’s topography at high resolution has not been possible until recently. With the LRO Wide Angle Camera and the Lunar Orbiter Laser Altimeter (LOLA) instrumentation, scientists can now accurately portray the shape of the entire moon at high resolution.
