The American Renaissance Group has given the Arizona Shooting a new twist today, as the suspected gunman Jared Lee Loughner in Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords shooting incident was found to have potential ties to the anti-semantic, anti-immigration hate group, according to a memo from the Department of Homeland Security which was apparently leaked.

Whether or not Jared Laughner is directly connected to the group is unclear, there is reference to the group in his MySpace and YouTube videos, which makes the group come under close scrutiny at this time in the Arizona shooting. The American Renaissance is a white supremacist group that operates under the guise of a think tank which is named the New Century Foundation. This group primarily runs a magazine and holds conferences based on eugenics and the racial superiority of whites, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
