Peace Building A Vision of World Peace in Mankind’s Fight For Survival

Peace Building A Vision of World Peace in Mankind's Fight For Survival - Can we battle nationalism and imperialism? - Is there any better time to start than this holiday season when peace on Earth and goodwill to man is the theme?
Some of us may have different ideas of world peace and of peace building, and these may seem like a vision that is unattainable to some, if not most of us at times. Nationalism and imperialism seem to be major obstacles in attaining these goals, as we will further review those two topics later on in the article. To begin with, from the Free Dictionary by Farlex.
- Peace
-
- The absence of war or other hostilities.
- An agreement or a treaty to end hostilities.
- Freedom from quarrels and disagreement; harmonious relations.
- Public Security and order.
- Inner contentment, serenity (peace of mind).
The timing for this article seems truly important, as on one hand we have destructive weather stretching across the globe, and we have ongoing wars that seem to have no ongoing peace building attempts, and world peace is but a far reach at best. It is also the holidays, where peace on Earth and goodwill towards man is the theme, and that for most of us, we put our differences away for a few days, and celebrate the birth of Christ, a live together in peace and harmony for the most part. Some of us even manage a smile and some courtesies we normally would not bother with. Continue Reading Peace Building A Vision of World Peace in Mankind’s Fight For Survival Here

Environmental Policy What is an Environmental Policy and What We Need To Focus On
It is useful for us to consider that environmental policy comprises two major terms: environment and policy. Environment primarily refers to the ecological dimension (ecosystems), but can also take account of the social dimension, or quality of life, and as an economic dimension correlating to resource management. The term policy can be defined as a course of action or principle adopted or proposed by a government, party, business or individual. That leaves us with the combined definition that an environmental policy focuses on problems arising from human impact on the environment, which retro-acts onto human society by having a negative impact on human values such as good health or a healthy, robust environment.
Environmental issues which are typically addressed by standard environmental policies include (but are not limited to) air and water pollution, waste management, ecosystem management, biodiversity protection, and the protection of natural resources, wildlife and endangered species. More recently however, environmental policy has expanded into the communication of environmental issues. Global Warming Hoax, Global Cooling Myth Exposed
No one with a minimal amount of intelligence can see the global cooling myth or the global warming hoax as nothing more than the propaganda that it is. ‘Merchants of Doubt‘ have been intentionally planting seeds of uncertainty throughout the land, but none come as close to the U.S. in terms of propaganda and denial campaigns. These merchants of doubt are paid well by special interest groups to endlessly question data, dismiss experimental innovation, stress uncertainties, and demand further research. These ‘well paid’ ‘skeptics’ are part of a group that has helped weaken legislation action or brake political momentum on such big issues such as tobacco, acid rain, ozone layer protection and climate change. Climate Change Science Update State of the Planet - Planet Under Pressure 2012 March 26-29 London UK
In the State of the Planet report, climate scientists described human’s global impact as “The Great Acceleration” and offered an ominous outlook for an uncertain future in a much hotter world.
2,800 climate science experts are meeting at the 4 day Planet under Pressure conference in London, and the Day 1 analysis of the current condition of Earth kicked off the week long review of vital signs, obstacles, and how to proceed forward.
According to the experts in the fields, time is running out rapidly to minimize the risk of setting in motion a series of events which could mean irreversible, long-term climate change and other dramatic changes to Earth’s life support systems, according to climate change scientists speaking at the Planet Under Pressure conference. This unequivocal warning was delivered on the first day of the conference giving the latest readings on the planets vital signs. Environmentalism What Happened to Environmentalism and What we can do to Save it!
Environmentalism and environmentalists are advocates for the preservation, restoration and improvement of the natural environment and may considered as the effort by humans to control our own pollution. This has inspired new concepts like Land Ethics, Environmental Ethics, Biodiversity, Ecology, and the Biophilia hypothesis.
The problem we are facing now is that our current laws to protect and conserve the environment in the name of environmentalism are in danger of being watered down, reduced or even altogether eliminated by big multinational corporations whom place record breaking profits and greed over corporate social responsibilities and the environmentalism movement may be in serious danger. Mass Extinction Events Sixth Mass Extinction Event in Oceans from Human Carbon Emissions Likely

Mass Extinction Events Sixth Mass Extinction Event in Oceans from Human Carbon Emissions Likely And Not From A More Likely Source Like This Asteroid Pictured Here
The rate at which oceans are currently acidifying is faster than any rate over the last 300 million years. During that time span, there were four mass extinctions researchers discovered. During those four mass extinction events, the increase in CO₂ in the atmosphere not only warmed the planet but made the oceans more acidic as well. These changes are directly linked with major climate shifts and mass extinction events.
