The Texas heat wave and drought linked to rapid global climate change according to NASA’s James Hansen.

The Texas heat wave and Texas drought that occurred over three months last summer where the temperatures in Texas rose higher than at any time in recorded history, and the state is still in the midst of the most expensive drought in the states history. But can the 2011 Texas heat wave and Texas drought be linked to global warming?

Some of us do associate these extreme weather events like this list of worst storms – natural disasters 2011 to global warming. However it is an entirely different world for scientists, and it is even difficult to get accross the fact that climate change is going on or is man made, however those attempts to discredit the science have been reduced greatly by the Koch led study into whether or not global warming is real. We really need to cut that out!

A Sense of Urgency is Needed if Greenhouse Gases are to Peak in Time, According to New UNEP Report.

According to an article from the UNEP dated February 23, 2010 “Countries will have to be far more ambitious in cutting these emissions if the world is to effectively curb the rise in global temperature by 2°C or less. This is the conclusion of a new greenhouse gas modeling study based on the estimates of researchers at nine leading centers, compiled by the UN environment program (UNEP).” Continue Reading A Sense of Urgency is Needed if Greenhouse Gases are to Peak in Time Here

2010 Climate Bill

Fate of the 2010 climate bill

The 2010 Climate Bill appears to be dead according to a dozen of our senators out of 16 surveyed. With the economy still a mess and jobs scarce, lawmakers see little chance of passing legislation which might hinder economic recovery and growth. The amount of people whom believe climate change and global warming are a hoax has more than doubled, and those whom do believe that global warming is real and caused by humans is at 10 percent. So now they are talking about expanding offshore drilling, building more nuclear power plants and requiring a portion of the U.S. electric supply to be generated by renewable sources.

Green Planet Ethics Climate Change Global Warming, and other thoughts

Green Planet Ethics Climate Change Global Warming, and other thoughts, green energy, climate change, green power, global warming, green, energy, change, oil, earth, need, good, power, ethics, global

Home sweet home, dont screw it up any worse!

Green Planet Ethics Climate Change Global Warming, and other thoughts boils down either for real, or a conspiracy theory, however you choose to address it, it is everyone’s problem who lives on Earth. Green energy is the future for Earth, not oil, which is finite and toxic at most levels. Earth cannot sustain our dependence on oil, and like any addiction, we need to take action. Finally admitting we have a problem is a good step, but is far from a solution on climate change. The clock is ticking on Planet Earth, and if this green energy can save us, or help us then we need to do it and do it now!

Signatures Wanted For US Climate Change Ethics Statement On US Moral Obligations

moral,climate,statement,change,campaign,group,obligation,reduce,sign,states

We need to curb our polluting ways my friends!

A group of representatives has created a statement about the moral obligations of the United States to reduce the threat of Climate Change and are now seeking signatures in support of that statement. The group consists of representatives from both conservative and liberal businesses, financial, youth, labor, racial justice, civil rights, faith, and conservation organizations from across the United States. The group has called this campaign to call out the U.S. on its moral agenda the “National Climate Ethics Campaign.”

This moral and ethics statement was prepared in the recognition of the fact that our nation has a moral obligation to address climate change in light of the fact that:

1) Climate change is a real, dangerous, and rapidly worsening problem with deep moral implications.
2) The US has done little to reduce its contributions to the crisis

The statement made by the group asserts that the United States has both a duty and a moral duty to prevent unjustifiable suffering and death amongst current and future generations in both the United States and across the globe. This moral obligation also requires that the US acts swiftly and significantly to reduce our contributions to the crisis at hand. African's Stepping Up To Address Climate Change With Renewable Energy With Enormous Potential For the Continent

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates — Africa’s growing economy and reliance on carbon-emitting energy from wood and charcoal could “exponentially” worsen global warming unless the continent steps up its investment in wind, solar and hydro power, the head of a new international energy agency said Friday.

The key to ramping up renewable energy resources is to develop a regulatory framework to convince institutional investors it’s safe to put their money into these cutting-edge technologies, Adnan Amin told nearly 30 African energy and foreign affairs ministers at the start of a two-day meeting.

“If Africa continues to grow at pace it is growing and intensifies that growth and uses only carbon-emitting forms of energy, it will exponentially change the picture on climate change and make it much worse,” said Amin, a Kenyan who is director general of the International Renewable Energy Agency.

“We need right now to start making the kinds of investment that will lead Africa on a very different path,” he said.
