Greenhouse Gases Cause of Global Warming, Not Sun Activity New NASA Report Confirms

Solar Cycle

A prolonged solar minimum left the sun's surface nearly free of sunspots and accompanying bright areas called faculae between 2005 and 2010. Total solar irradiance declined slightly as a result, but the Earth continued to absorb more energy than it emit throughout the minimum. An animation of a full solar cycle is available here. Greenhouse gases are confirmed as the cause of global warming, not sun activity according to a recent NASA report. The recent, prolonged minimal in sun activity did not prevent the Earth from absorbing more solar energy than it let escape back into space, a recent NASA analysis of the Earth’s energy budget indicates. The study, Earth’s energy imbalance and implications, appeared in the Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics journal in December, 2011.

In a real brief summary, the study concluded:

Improving observations of ocean heat content show that Earth is absorbing more energy from the Sun than it is radiating to space as heat, even during the recent solar minimum. The inferred planetary energy imbalance, 0.58±0.15Wm−2 during the 6-yr period 2005–2010, confirms the dominant role of the human-made greenhouse effect in driving global climate change.

This imbalance is the primary driver for global warming, since more energy is coming in than leaving and, because it occurred during a period when the sun was emitting comparatively low levels of energy, the imbalance has implications for the cause of global warming. The results of the study confirm greenhouse gases produced by human activities are the most important driver of global climate change, according to the researchers. Texas Heat Wave & Drought Linked to Rapid Global Warming by NASA’s James Hansen

Texas Heat Wave & Drought Linked to Rapid Global Warming by NASA's James Hansen Images

The Texas heat wave and drought linked to rapid global climate change according to NASA’s James Hansen.

The Texas heat wave and Texas drought that occurred over three months last summer where the temperatures in Texas rose higher than at any time in recorded history, and the state is still in the midst of the most expensive drought in the states history. But can the 2011 Texas heat wave and Texas drought be linked to global warming?

Some of us do associate these extreme weather events like this list of worst storms – natural disasters 2011 to global warming. However it is an entirely different world for scientists, and it is even difficult to get accross the fact that climate change is going on or is man made, however those attempts to discredit the science have been reduced greatly by the Koch led study into whether or not global warming is real. We really need to cut that out!

A Sense of Urgency is Needed if Greenhouse Gases are to Peak in Time, According to New UNEP Report.

According to an article from the UNEP dated February 23, 2010 “Countries will have to be far more ambitious in cutting these emissions if the world is to effectively curb the rise in global temperature by 2°C or less. This is the conclusion of a new greenhouse gas modeling study based on the estimates of researchers at nine leading centers, compiled by the UN environment program (UNEP).” Continue Reading A Sense of Urgency is Needed if Greenhouse Gases are to Peak in Time Here

Climate Roadmap Proposal for UN Deal by 2015 Proposed by EU Climate Diplomat To Replace Kyoto Protocol Which Expires in 2012

A climate roadmap has been proposed by the European Union’s top climate diplomat on Nov 5, 2011 for the European Union which could lead to a comprehensive deal by the year 2015 has been well received. Currently, negotiations being conducted under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) have had little success ever since the Copenhagen Summit in December of 2009. The latest set of talks are scheduled from November 28 to December 9, 2011 in Durban, South Africa.

According to Connie Hedegaard, the European Climate commissioner, “I have had very positive signals about the EU proposal for a roadmap, as the idea would give countries more time, namely until 2015 to comply with international climate protection obligations and to introduce the corresponding monitoring.” Hedegaard stated that the new climate roadmap ought to be “binding” with it’s goal to encompass 80% to 85% of greenhouse gas emissions which are man-made, while the current Kyoto Protocol only encompasses roughly 33% in comparison.

Is Global Warming Real? New Report By Skeptic Answers Is Global Warming Real

Is Global Warming Real? New Report By Skeptic Answers Is Global Warming Real - Chart Coutesy of Berkeley Earth.ORG

When we ask is global warming real, there are few scientists that will argue that point anymore. The evidence is overwhelming that it is in fact real. There have been longstanding feuds amongst scientists over the decades since the theory was first introduced by Svante Arrhenius in 1896. Ever since that time there have been those whom deny it’s existence, however, that camp for the most part has changed their tune as evidence keeps mounting suggesting that it is in fact very real. There are still some key scientists in denial of the fact to this day.

Is Global Warming Real

That brings us to the present day and the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature (BEST) study, a study that was heavily funded by the Charles G. Koch Charitable Foundation, which would prefer to keep climate denial as the mainstream philosophy for ulterior motives, primarily to fight attempts to reduce carbon emissions in the U.S.A. due to their energy industries large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions. The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) also funded by Koch industries is also attempting to thwart environmental protections and climate change legislature to benefit companies like Koch Industries bottom lines. 24 Hours of Reality Live

It’s time for the world to face the realities of climate change, and that time is now!

That is the message expressed by Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project, which has launched “24 Hours of Reality,” an event beginning at 7pm CT (8pm ET) on September 14, and running for 24 hours straight. It is a global event featuring 24 presenters in 24 time zones, who “will connect the dots between recent extreme weather events — including floods, droughts and storms along with the manmade pollution that is changing our climate.”

The event comes on the heels of hurricanes, droughts, and other extreme weather events slamming the United States, and as the country ended its second-hottest summer ever recorded.

Kevin Trenberth, a senior scientist with the National Center for Atmospheric Research, said “There is now a pervasive human influence in all climate events.”

In a recent Mediaite interview with Climate Reality Project’s Alex Bogusky, Gore said:

Powerful polluters … see it as a useful strategy to try to convince the public that the scientists are liars and that they’re greedy and they’re making stuff up. All in the service of their overarching strategy of creating enough doubt to persuade people that there shouldn’t be any sense of urgency about addressing this crisis.

In anticipation of the event, the Climate Reality Project released video ads suggesting that when it comes to the climate crisis, “the fat lady has sung and the *#!? is hitting the fan.”

You can watch the “24 Hours of Reality” event livestream in English here, beginning at 8pm ET, or click here to find the location where you would like to watch a presentation.

Stay tuned in to the Climate Reality Project and help to save the planet and we hope you enjoy the 24 Hours of Reality Live! Peace my friends and Godspeed!
