Happy Earth Day Everybody!

Why Earth day do you ask? Many have asked the question why Earth Day since its inception on April 22nd, 1970 I imagine. Lets begin with a brief history on this historic event. Asteroid 2011 MD Trajectory Will be Near Miss on Monday, June 27, 2011

NASA has issued a recalculated time for the closest approach of Asteroid 2011 MD reporting that it will be about 3 1/2 hours later than it had initially thought on Monday, June 27,2011. Here’s something for you to chew on as your work week begins on Monday, that a small asteroid the size of a tour bus will make an extremely close pass to the Earth Monday, but it poses no immediate risk to the planet.

The asteroids closest approach will now be at 1:14 p.m. EDT or 17:14 GMT on June 27, 2011 and will pass just over 7,500 miles (12,000 kilometers) above the Earth’s surface, NASA officials stated. At that particular moment, the asteroid, which scientists have named 2011 MD, will be sailing over the coast of Antarctica, almost 2,000 miles, or 3,218 km south-southwest of South Africa. Global Warming

Global Warming is a complex chain of processes which can feed on each other once the process has begun

Global Warming

Global warming (GW) which threatens all mankind and the Earth, appears as a chain of processes that stimulate one another by getting into cause and effect contact with global crisis. At the same time, both crises are closely connected with global political crisis – global crisis of democracy as well as crises of field of fundamental human rights and freedoms, world order and political systems. We think that the struggle against each of them separately will not be enough without reviewing these three crises together and attempting their parallel solution simultaneously.

Considering of role of changes taken place in human factor and mind in both GW and global economic development is very important in solution of these problems and prevention of re-occurrence of this type of crises. We consider it important to study the specific connection between GW and human factor which is the most important factor of global democratic crisis and both crises in a scientific way. The largest solar storm is hitting us now as a result of Sunday nights solar flare, the largest since 2005. The solar flare occurred at about 11 p.m. EST Sunday Jan 22, 2012 and will hit Earth with three different effects at three different times. The biggest issue is radiation, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Space Weather Prediction Center in Colorado.

The sun is bombarding Earth with radiation from the biggest sun event in more than six years with more to come from the fast-moving eruption. The radiation, which comes in the form of protons, erupted out of the sun and are traveling at 93 million miles per hour.

The radiation is mostly a concern for satellite disruptions and astronauts in space. It can cause communication problems for polar-traveling airplanes, said space weather center physicist Doug Biesecker.

Radiation from Sunday’s solar flare arrived at Earth an hour later and will likely continue through Wednesday. Levels are considered strong but other storms have been more severe. There are two higher levels of radiation on NOAA’s storm scale — severe and extreme — Biesecker said. Still, this storm is the strongest for radiation since May 2005. Eco-Friendly Green Burial Options

Eco-Friendly green burial options, and what form of burial to choose is of great concern to many, but for those who are eco-conscious, the concerns are specifically related to being eco-friendly.

You may wonder if conventional burial practices are harmful to the earth. In truth, conventional burial is not particularly green. Trees must be cut to make the coffin, and embalming fluids like formaldehyde and methanol are not earth-friendly. Another concern is the use of land for conventional burial. The earth itself must be dug up and cemetery plots take up space. Continue Reading Eco-Friendly Green Burial Options Here
