Is Electricity Renewable or Non-Renewable? How to Find out if your Electricity is Renewable or Non-Renewable

Is electricity renewable? How to find out if your electricity is renewable or non-renewable. As it currently stands, our current grid and sources of energy come from a wide variety of sources and is not limited to a single power source. To begin with, first we must determine what the renewable and non-renewable energy sources are before we can fully understand and answer this question with a degree of honesty.

In short, electricity is largely produced by power stations burning fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas. Nuclear fission can also be used to produce electricity from nuclear power plants. All these sources of energy are not renewable, which means that there is a finite, or limited amount of these fuels available in the world and when it is all used up, that’s it, there will be no more.

On the other hand, hydro, wind, tidal, geothermal, biomass, and solar power are all regarded as sustainable and renewable forms of energy because they aren’t finite and limited to available resources. We use the energy we obtain from these sources and it still keeps coming, it will not run out! Continue Reading Is Electricity Renewable or Non-Renewable? Ethics of Wind Power and Solar Power, wind turbine farm out west.

Going back to the basics is the trend these days, confirming the ethics of wind power and solar power. A growing number of people are now fully aware of the many problems in the world that we created, and are now faced including pollution, depletion of our natural resources, ever increasing populations, and many others. With so many issues we need to deal with, people just don’t have any idea of where to start. In fact, this issue alone may be the reason for some to do nothing, or deny any of the current issues plaguing us today. You don’t have to be a hero and do it by yourself to help save the planet and address its many woes. Here is a thought, take it one day at a time, in baby steps and contribute what you can today, and as it becomes a habit and you are more comfortable with it, it will become a way of life. Change isn’t easy for some, but in time it becomes a way of life, just like learning to walk or ride a bike, it takes practice. We can start today in our own little way by learning about and eventually using both of these sustainable energy sources! Continue Reading Ethics of Wind Power and Solar Power Here

Nuclear Power: The Pros and Cons of Nuclear Energy

Special Report: Nuclear Power: The Pros and Cons of Nuclear Energy

A Guide to Nuclear Power Pros and Cons and How it Affects Us and the Environment

Introduction
Nuclear power is a form of energy. It is not dependent on fossil fuels or any fossil fuel, such as coal or natural gas. While many of us associate the word nuclear with atomic bombs, it has many more constructive uses. Nuclear energy can be used to power homes, businesses, and supply electricity to large numbers of people. There are, of course, pros and cons to this form of power. Following is something about what nuclear energy is and how it works, its history, and some nuclear power pros and cons for this type of energy.

What Is Nuclear Energy?
When the nuclei of certain atoms are split, they release energy. The process of atom-splitting is called nuclear fission. Normally, all elements have the same number of protons and neutrons in their nuclei. The exception to this is hydrogen, an atom with an unequal number of protons and neutrons. This makes hydrogen very unstable and therefore easier to split. This is why atomic bombs were also called hydrogen bombs, or H-bombs. Now, uranium is the element that is usually used. Power Purchase Agreement PPA And Solar Rent Lease Strategies An Explanation

solar,power,rent,provider,electricity,ppa,ppas,equipment,lease,leases,power purchase agreement

A Power Purchase Agreement or PPA can help you too move to alternative green energy sources too!

New power purchase agreement (PPA) and a solar rent lease are two programs which are springing up due to the fact that alternative power is coming to fruition, and these programs are springing up to facilitate the use of alternative energy in people’s homes and businesses. Solar rent leases or power purchase agreements (PPAs) are two of those programs. Here is a brief explanation of how these two programs (PPA & SRL) typically work.

Solar Rent Leases

A solar rent lease involves renting solar equipment from a power/electricity provider. The provider actually owns the solar panels and overall solar power system, and is responsible for its maintenance. You pay a fee, or rent, for the use of the equipment. Generally, the solar power system is intended to augment, not replace, the electricity you purchase from your utility company. Hopefully, you will save so much on your power bill that it will offset the rent amount. Continue Reading Power Purchase Agreement PPA And Solar Rent Lease Strategies An Explanation Here

Reducing UK CO2 Emissions By 60%

This article shows how the UK can achieve a 60% reduction on the total year 2000 CO2 emissions, i.e. to reduce the emission of CO2 in the UK to 40% of the 2000 emissions. It describes the development of an integrated energy system for the UK which will enable renewable energy systems in conjunction with hydrogen technology to supply an increasing share of the whole energy market.emission.
