Girl Scout Cookies Newest Addition Savannah Smiles Makes us Smile ;)

Savannah Smiles

Savannah Smiles

Girl Scout Cookies season begins with a bang as they introduce the newest member of the collection, Savannah Smiles, which sounds like a real taste bud pleaser. The tasters int he testing all concur that these nibbles are just fine, but they are no Samoas, Tagalongs or my all time favorite and probably yours, Thin Mints.

Girl Scout Cookies will be delivered beginning the week of Jan. 30 in 2012 and will be sold at booths at local retailers and financial institutions through mid-March.

These new cookies seemingly attempt a “smile” shape, but in reality they look like half-moons. They just don’t look all that good on a plate, however if you are creative and add a few artsy additions like some colors and variety they will look perfect. The point is here, it is food, and however attractive it is or not, it is the taste that counts, right? Continue Reading Girl Scout Cookies Newest Addition Savannah Smiles Makes us Smile ;) Here

Jack LaLanne died, the fitness king has died at age 96 Sunday. He was one of the first to hit the airwaves and has inspired television viewers to trim their wastes, eat healthy and lift weights for decades before dieting and exercise became a national phenomenom, passed away due to complications in his respiratory system from pneumonia. He was at home in Morro Bay on California’s central coast, his longtime agent Rick Hersh said. LaLanne always ate a healthy diet and exercised every day of his life up until the end, according to Hersh. He has maintained his youthful physique and joked about that fact in 2006 that “I can’t afford to die. It would wreck my image.” But even though Jack LaLanne Died, it doesn’t affect our image of him, at least not us at Green Planet Ethics.

Elaine LaLanne, who was Jack LaLanne’s wife for 51 years and frequent guest in his tv cameos gave this written statement “I have not only lost my husband and a great American icon, but the best friend and most loving partner anyone could ever hope for.”

Bob Barker, the former “Price is Right” host, has credited LaLanne’s encouragement with helping him to start exercising and keep exercising more often, and he told the AP on Sunday that “He never lost enthusiasm for life and physical fitness, I saw him in about 2007 and he still looked remarkably good. He still looked like the same enthusiastic guy that he always was.” Continue Reading Jack LaLanne Died Fitness King Dies At Age 96 Here

Ethics of Wind Power and Solar Power, wind turbine farm out west.

Going back to the basics is the trend these days, confirming the ethics of wind power and solar power. A growing number of people are now fully aware of the many problems in the world that we created, and are now faced including pollution, depletion of our natural resources, ever increasing populations, and many others. With so many issues we need to deal with, people just don’t have any idea of where to start. In fact, this issue alone may be the reason for some to do nothing, or deny any of the current issues plaguing us today. You don’t have to be a hero and do it by yourself to help save the planet and address its many woes. Here is a thought, take it one day at a time, in baby steps and contribute what you can today, and as it becomes a habit and you are more comfortable with it, it will become a way of life. Change isn’t easy for some, but in time it becomes a way of life, just like learning to walk or ride a bike, it takes practice. We can start today in our own little way by learning about and eventually using both of these sustainable energy sources! Continue Reading Ethics of Wind Power and Solar Power Here

Happy Thanksgiving 2010

Happy Thanksgiving Give Thanks and Enjoy Your Thanksgiving 2010

As we enter the holiday season, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving 2010. We’ve come along ways since that first thanksgiving in 1621, when the Plymouth colonists and the Wampanoag Indians shared their harvests with a feast. We have many new technologies to celebrate, like the internet, mobile phones, and modern transportation, modern housing, we also have many new problems associated with those technologies. Life is not so simple anymore in 2010 by any means, even speaking just 20 years ago. Imagine how simple life must have been some 400 years ago, without any of our modern conveniences.

Mid Term Elections 2010 Remember Vote 2010 Green Climate Leaders Not Climate Deniers

Vote Green for Climate Leaders, Not Climate Deniers!

Mid term elections 2010 are just around the corner, and Vote 2010 will be Tuesday, November 2, 2010. We have succeeded in getting President Obama to put solar back on the White House, and have reduced our energy use. We are tacking the fight back to big oil and coal companies and proving that we won’t just sit back as they trounce on our precious environment. The last two years we have made some good progress towards a greener planet, with help from a more environmentally friendly government and leaders. This can all change in the blink of an eye come November 2, as Republicans are poised to take back control of the senate and congress. They have been very blunt and straightforward about their plans, and that is to let big oil and big coal producers use the air we breath as a planetary sewer so to speak. We need Climate Leaders in the house, and if the climate deniers retake the house, we will spend the next two years trying to maintain the time and ground we have gained to enact stronger, more innovative clean energy and climate laws, and we will spend even longer trying to regain the ground we lose if Climate Leaders aren’t elected.

Power Naps Easy Tips on How to Power Nap

Don't let your boss catch you like this if you oversleep on one of your power naps! Set the alarm if need be!

While many may feel groggy in the afternoon, power naps are a great refresher and we show you how to power nap with these easy tips so you can make the most out of your days. We all know how it when you just can’t keep your eyes open anymore and it’s only two o’clock in the afternoon. What is the matter we say, or why am I so tired?

In Spanish it is called a siesta, and they still utilize the siesta with shops and businesses closing from 2 to 5 pm and bars and restaurants closing from 4 to 8 or 9 pm. The older, more traditional reason for the siesta was for a rest from the heat, but the more modern interpretations is that they love to have a huge, long lunch, lasting up to two hours at home with family, which ultimately results in them getting sleepy.
